Chamber filter press is one kind of filter press used to separate solids from liquids. It is recessed between two stationary slabs known as the frame and the pressure plate; it is also referred to as a recessed filter press. Filter cloths or filter membranes are typically used to fill the filter plates, which are typically made of polypropylene or stainless steel. In specifically, chamber filter press is used to produce dry filter cakes of high-ash material before being briquetted and/or burned in power plants. If a dry, manageable cake or high-water recovery from tailings is needed, they are also used for coal tailings.
